What is that smell in my house? It occasionally smells like cider vinegar...tart and sweet at the same time.?

Question:It only smells in one room though I thought I smelled the smell outside one day.

Answers:
Usually, that's something fermenting. It could be garbage, a piece of fruit or vegetable...an old plant...

Just a note...my sister had a smell like that. She also has a toddler. Her son had started stashing his leftover finger foods down the heating grate. THAT was the smell for her. Do you have a toddler?

Someone peed in the corner at one of your parties.
someone left some food out, check under furniture
there is a body baried under your house
you might have standing water somewhere. Also if you have a cat or dog, the smell is urine.
you didn't say which room its in. is it the garbage?
on certain days I can smell the old lady that use to live in my house- no it is not her ghost- she moved to Texas with her son. My aunt can sometimes smell my grams jergens hand lotion. My guess is that whoever lived in your house before you spilled some sweet pickle juice, and it seeped into the wood. Warm humid days bring out the smell.
It's cat pee
its the combination of the smell of urine (of rats, cats, human) and a leaking LPG. so better watch out! check ur LPG.

it also maybe a stagnant water.
It sounds like a type of insect, but for the life of me I can’t find the name of it. Call an exterminator to get rid of it.
