My plants keep falling over, not the pot, the plant...?

Question:tomato plant sprous (about 5" tall) and 2 out of four are like sideways, i put them out there yesterday, and 2 of them r leaning on the side of the pot sideways? do i leave them out there, since the other 2 are fine, or bring them in, or put popsicle sticks next to them?

Answers:
You should get a soil testing kit.
Determine the contents of the soil for nutrient
If things arent balanced right for the particular species, it will have problems.
Sometimes plants lean towards the light,
but this sounds more like weak structure in the stem which could be a lack of phosphate.

Now dont just pour plant food around them because too much nitrogen will burn up the roots.

There is also the possibility that something is abstructing the roots from taking hold and so the plant is becomming top heavy with nothing to hold it down.

mabye they need more sunlight
It sounds like they are in shock from being transplanted. They will be ok in time. Go ahead and put sticks in there, since they should have one to keep them up while growing anyway.
i think they got to much sunlight to fast -- i call them spindly -its hard to grow from seeds ---- next time when you first take them outside ---try it 1 hour at a time --- not all at once. if they grow too spindly inside --they wont make it outside
If you want them to straighten out and grow right, producing the most tomatoes possible, you must stake them and tend to the staking as they grow.
I am not to fond of the whole plant thing.
However I do see my mom take a small piece of wood and push it down into the soil right next to the plant then she takes some string and wraps it around both the wood and the plant so that way the plant sits up strait and then they keep growing from there.
Other than that if they are not getting enough sun than that could be it. Also if it starts to rain take them in cause the rain could be another reason for them to go lop sided.
Leave them out and do leave the popsicle sticks and wrap old panty hose around the sticks to hold them up and when they get taller put more sticks higher than plant and use more panty hose to tie them
