We are growing cucumber plants in a large container, they were doing great, full of blooms, even got some cucs.
Question:Now the cucs are looking yellowish white, disfigured and there are no more blooms, what happened? They get good sun, they are in good soil, and they are watered. Please help!
Answers:
Sounds like they are dying. To continue producing the cucs have to be harvested. If you leave them on the vine the plant is saying, "I've produced viable seed, I'm done."
If your cucs are turning yellow you are letting them get to ripe
you need to pick them before they turn and then your plant
will keep blooming and put on more cucs.
You are over watering the plant. It is already too late to save the yellow cucs. Pull them off the plant and throw them away. Cucumbers will only produce more fruits if you keep them picked. Let the soil dry out some and you should be ok.
Sounds like you might be over-watering them to me. Make sure you pick off anything that is yellow and discard it. This will allow the plant to focus it's energy on getting better rather than trying to save the dying parts.
Good luck. :)
