right my man..sorry or woman,I've just switched from British get up my a*se,cant get through unless its to India gas? to southern electric ,and why I've not done so before is beyond me. i ll just give you a quick run down on the average prices of gas per annum with different company's,remember these are estimated averages, but since I've been with southern my electric and gas bills have fallen dramatically? and no i don't work for them.
s. electric£873.00
n.power £909.00
UK power gen ££913.00
British gas £953.00
edf energy £971.00
Scottish power £990.00
the figures do the work all by themselves don't they, even if you save a pound a year, its worth it,i tell you best move Ive ever done moving to southern.good luck. oh and by the way they are dropping there prices even further this year..here's there number if you wish to find out further info..0845 744 4555..once again best move we ever made, and if you phone them ,you are not on hold for 1/2 hour plus, they do actually answer you within 5Min's? Christ I've just realised...i don't blow my own trumpet as loud as I'm blowing there's?
There are several websites that let you make a comparison, such as uswitch.com
I also switched from British Gas to Southern Electric, much much better. My chief complaint about BG was that it was difficult ( very difficult) to speak to a human being. SE claim that they answer your call with a human being within 7 rings.
That for me was as good as the lower prices.
Good hunting!
Log onto "The Energy Shop" website and fill in the boxes asking for info on your present usage. The website will show you a table of your savings or extra expenditure for all the energy suppliers. You can apply on line, there and then and can be switched over within about six weeks. The supplier will email you and send written details. There are loads of savings if you opt for paperless billing and/or send your meter readings on line. I check regularly and switch regularly.
It's best to surf the net of various companies and leave various emails, so they can help you. I am on pre payment meters, i know where i am with them all the time and i don't get bills coming in. I am with Sweb, i can't complain ! Pay as you go may be slightly more expensive but it sure helps to see where money is going and being able to adjust one's electrical usage.
