Old Fashioned Barometer?

Question:I'm in my 40's. When I was little, my grandmother had a little item that hung on the wall. It was shaped liked a house with 2 doors.
On fair weather days, Hansel & Gretel would pivot out their door. On bad days, the Witch would pivot out hers. I'm sure there are variations. Has anyone else heard of this and know what it might be called?

Yes. It is called a cottage barometer and quite inaccurate as viewed because there was no scale. Just an interesting novelty. However when the witch came out her door one could expect inclement weather. And the farther out the door she came -- the higher the possibility. If she fell on the floor you were probably in a hurricane.
