There are tiny flies around my bathroom sink?

Question:Lately I have noticed lots of tiny flies, very similar to fruit flies, around my bathroom sink. No, there is no fruit in my bathroom!
Anyone know what they might be & how I get rid of them?

Answers:
They could be sewer flies-sewer flies come up out of dry drains-that's one of the reasons you have a trap in your drain(The curvy piece)

The trap holds water to seal off the drain from the sewer preventing odors and flies, snakes, etc from escaping.Check to see if the trap is leaking-metal ones leak at the bottom

I am not saying this is your problem but check into it

clean your sink !!!!
No these little flies are called gnats. I think this is how you spell the name. they live of the soil from house hold plants, especially nice moist peat. So if you let your plant“s dry out a little you will be rid of them
try bleach and water down your drain and your overflow drain. this is where they usually come from.
I have the same problem at times. What your seeing is not flies but Knats. I use bug spray, Rid-a-Bug, Flying Insect Killer.Smaller than a house fly, but larger than a Knat. If it's black and has white wings, it's Termites that are swarming.
