Can someone identify this weed!?
Question:there is this weed growing in the backyard and we are wondering what it is, and how to kill it. it has a hollow stem and what looks like a tuber root system. and grows taller than ten feet. below are links to the pics i took of it.

Pretty sure that is "Pokeweed". Hollow,thick stem..sorta milky..Produces elongated stems of dark, gorgeously purple berries. Not clusters..but, evenly spaced berries on either side.
Grows very very tall. The Indians used the berry juice for dying and painting.
Don't dose it with WMD's(weapons of mass destuc)... that's overkill...just pull it up by the roots.
Folks are always quick to suggest blasting anything and everything with poison... hold back that urge. :-) I would only suggest herbicides for big problems like rampant poison oak or ivy.

Use any product that contains more than 4% of glyposate (aka: weed killer) such as Round-up. Home depot sells it.

about 15 years ago my sister & me made a garden at my mom's house. there was a weed there also. everyone there thought it was something had planted. It grew fast also. it got to about 7 ft tall. then a relative came over said.. Thats a weed. Everyone thought the other person planted it. No I didnt we all said. We never got the name of it. good luck !
does it ever get berries on it if so it could be poke salad

It simular to a milk weed I once saw. they get kinda tall, other then I'm not sure. Careful milk weed is TOXIC
