Can you plant apple tree branches into the ground and they make new trees?
Question:ya. we have an apple tree in our backyard in maine, so we want to make it into several others. i woul really like to know if you are able to snip other parts of the tree and plant it. If we do that will it grow?
Answers:
No, a plain branch won't grow roots. You'll need to take a seed from an apple and plant it in order for a apple tree to grow.
A branch is anatomically incapable of sprouting roots and full vessels of a tree trunk
hope that helped
Cut your branches so that bark can be peeled back and split.
Get some **rootinom** and apply according to instructions.
Pot plant for the first year, then remove to location.
Plant several cuttings as they are difficult to get started.
You might also try grafting..can be fun. We have a tree in our back yard with several different fruit branches on it. Very unique.
