How do you get rid of bats in your walls?
Question:They found a way in between our log cabin and the addition on our home. Is it true that we really can't trap them out because until fall since baby bats which are too young to fly will die and rot in our walls?
Answers:
You can eliminate the bats if you hang chili and garlic on the wall or if you don't like that then you could place install fans or wind mills up there.
Or you could have some kind of electric net or install very bright lights up there.
Or before every night, burn some leaves or wood to smoke the area as bats hate smoke.
move to a house thats not condemned...
I would use foggers or smoke bombs to force them out and then find where they are getting in and seal it up. Raid or Hot Shot foggers work very well.
As for the 2nd part of your question about baby bats, call your local Dept. of Conservation and ask them.
Gosh, I can't remember off the top of my head about the baby bats... However, I do know that the best way to keep them out is with simple netting. Find where their getting in (make sure they're all out) and place netting over the opening. You can see some high-quality, UV-stabilized (so it won't degrade in the sun) netting at http://www.bird-x.com/products/bnet.html... About the babies, call our sales guys at (800)860-0473, they'll probably know.
There are certain times of the year where it is safe to have bats "excluded" from your home. The maternity season is a time where the femals are raising their young - and exclusions need to be avoided during this time. The season depends on geographic area.
