Need new side fences?

Question:I am getting new fences on both sides of my property, one neighbor wants them the other one says cannot afford it.
What happens if yr neighbor does not want to put up a fence?
The fences at the moment are almost fallling down, I can't let dog into front yard because is this. Is there anyway to solve this problem amicably? Does anyone know about the legal aspects of this problem ?

Answers:
If you wish to have control, make sure the fences are installed about 2" inside the property line (your side). They are now your fences.
If they are installed directly on the property line, they are shared fences. Not a good idea when it comes to selling on anyones part.
If they are installed on your nieghbors side, they are his/hers.

Most amicable solution is to replace the fence and pay the reluctant neighbor's "share" yourself. The neighbor will probably be less reluctant if it doesn't cost him/her anything.

I'm replacing my entire fence, which adjoins four other yards, but I'm just paying for it rather than trying to convince everyone else to contribute.
