Looks like there is no S pipe in your drain from the shower. We had the same problem and once the S pipe was installed it stopped.
pour vinager or baking soda down the drain..if it doesnt help i would call in a plummer to snake your drain..may have some food from the first floor clogged and the smell is traveling up
Sounds like you need a trap. This traps a full pipe of water to block sewer gases from coming up the drains. It may also be installed and just has a leak. The problem is getting to it. You may need to remove some ceiling or flooring. You need to call a plumber. Sewer gases can be very dangerous.
use a trp just under the floor mounting, when there will be always water inside the trap, the smell will not come out
Pour in about 3 cups of peanut oil. Don't know why this works, but it does!
