I have a a Dewalt air compressor that's a couple of years old. How much can I sell it for?
Question:I have a Dewalt D55270 5.5 Hp Gas Air Compressor in good working condition. Besides a minor dent and the Dewalt stickers in the front peeling off, it's in good condition. My husband no longer needs it since he no longer has his construction business, so we'd like to sell it. He paid around $850 for it new. Do you think I could sell it for $450? Please, anyone who has experience with tools, let me know. Any opinions would be valued. Thank you.
PS ~ I've attached a link with a photo and going prices.

Answers:
General rule of thumb for used tools that still work correctly is approximately 1/2 of original cost, sorry, tools depreciate during useful life, increase again if they make it to becoming an antique.
