What is an effective method of getting rid of indoor ants?

Can you please describe the ants? Size, color, where you are seeing them all would help me tell you the best way to get rid of them.
use black pepper in areas that you think they might be coming from. They HATE it and usually will not return.
First thing to do is find where they are entering your home. Spray for most types of ants, or use a granular product if they are fireants. See if it is possible to cover or close off the entry point. If possible, close off any area inside your home where they are appearing. There are sealers for this purpose. Clean up the area where the ants are inside your home. Use a bit of chlorox to wipe the counters if they are on there. If it is safe to do so, spray the areas where the ants were entering, being careful that small children and pets do not have access to it. Read the instructions first. Most cannot be applied to counters or other eating areas. Reapply spray or fireant products if needed. Otherwise, call a professional exterminator. It is generally recommended that to minimize unwanted pests in the home, the outside and inside should be exterminated about once every three months or so. As for black pepper, I've never heard of it, but anything is worth trying. Thanks AM.
