Most reliable brand of lawntractors in US new or old?

Question:Any brand, year, engine type/size - as long as its a riding tractor

Answers:
If you really want a mower to last long, Brand is not important. A industrial quality mower is far better. The kind used by Cities, parks, and landscape companies. Industrial grade mowers far outlast "homeowner grade" mowers. They are costly though. $3500-$6000. Brand is unimportant.

Briggs and Stratton for average lawns.
Ford Diesel
Cummins
Any WVO

WVO is sorta new, Cummins is known to be reliable.
Volvo-Penta is very high torque
Caterpillar
John Deere
nothing runs like a deer
KUbota by a long shot! We have had one for over 20 years with no problems, we do regular maintainence on it evey year, We use to mow 8 acres with it when we lived in Indiana, we now live in Tennessee and mow a little over three acres with it, love it!
We have a New Holland..John Deere makes a great mower.Kubota is also exceptional. Regular upkeep is the most important thing.
If you mow over an acre of ground I would go for a higher end mower. We found this out after investing in 2 Sears products which totally blew after about 4 years even with good upkeep.
Good luck!
Old = Gravely or Cub Cadet.
New = Dixie Chopper

But an International Harvester "Lowboy" with a belly mower is a very nice tractor new or old.
