IsTempur Pedic really that good?
Question:Im thinking to get one when I move into my new apartment. I tried one in the store and I dint think it was that great until I tried the regular mattress next to it. The when I tried it again I felt the difference. But its so expensive! anyway... how is it when you just want to sit up in bed and read. does your bum sink in? does it keep the shape of ur body after a while?

I sleep on a 3 inch thick memory foam pad. The same foam used in Tempur Pedic but I have it on top of a firm mattress. T.P. uses it on top of other types of foam.
Your body heat is what activates the foam so as you lay there it molds to you ( your impression doesn't stay but for a split second after you move ). You'll sleep like a baby.
You'll have to put a thin pad on top of the foam in the winter because the foam takes your body heat quickly, but on hot summer nites it's great.

If you want complete coverage of a queen size mattress you'll need to buy a king size pad and cut some off the width.
if u have a back or neck problem tempur-pedic is great or if u just like the feel of it!! my best friend has one and she loves it, i always borrow it on sleepovers and i luv it!!=)
I have heard that they feel good but your body doesnt breath as well due to the material and can cause you to sweat more than normal. Something to look in to I guess. :/
We didn't get a TempuPedic Bed until we slept on one at a vacation rental. Then we decided to get one. I think the investment is worth it. 1. you sleep half your life away...why not be comfortable, 2. your lumbar and back health will be better for it., 3. it has a 20 year guarantee...how many mattresses have that?
So my suggestion would be to try a hotel that has them and then see if its for you. The night's sleep alone should sell you on one. The tempur pedic website has a list of hotels.
To answer your questions, when you read, the foam is supportive...so you do not sink. it does not conform to your body shape..it evenly supports you when you sleep.
P.S. If you buy from Temper pedic directly they sometimes give you 2 free pillows and delivery...better deals than many can offer.
Try the pillows, too. After a car crash I have a bad back and neck. Everything I slept on would leave me in pain, until I got a foam mattress and pillow. I haven't felt pain for 2 years now. The foam has yet to show any signs of weakening. It still looks and feels brand new.
we purchase one,hated it , not worth the money, we ended up senting it back for a refund
