Aphids in Miracle-Gro Potting Mix?
Question:I just bought a bag of Miracle-Gro Potting Mix, and there are lots of tiny little bugs in it that look like aphids. I read online that it is common to find bugs called soil or fungus gnats in potting soil, but the bugs in my soil don't look like the gnats or the larvae. They really do look like aphids to me. Are there other bugs that look similar to aphids that these could possibly be?
I'm new to planting and gardening, so I have no idea if this is normal. Did I get a bad bag of potting soil? Or is it normal to find either aphids or aphid-looking bugs in it? Thanks!

Run back to where you bought it and return it. Last spring I transplanted a 7 year old, 8 ft healthy ficus, lush & beautiful, along w/other healthy plants. 1 mo later on the joints of the ficus I found brown bumps like a pinhead. losing all foliage is why I noticed .Ran to every plant book I could find saw nothing. Cut a sucked up branch from my ficus and the local extension service said it was from infected soil.He told to use 1 pt diazon, 1 pt.euclyliptus alcohol, to 80 % H20. and spray this on daily, by the size of these mites he didnt think my ficus would live. I dabbed my plants w/ this mixture and I lost only 3 out of the 21 inside and they were ivy which I cant grow hope check your new soil w/ a magnifying glass I would never use any soil w moving objects in it unless it was an earth worm from my back yard
take the soil back as it is not been treated
