Garage sale prices?

Question:What are some good prices for garage sale stuff. i have baby clothes, dvds, VHS, books, kids books, toys, boppy pillows, a sleeper sofa, changing table, plus more. I have never done a garage sale I have only helped set them up so I don't know what i should charge. Any help would be great!

I don't know what area of the country that you're from ... that actually does play a part in pricing. Generally it depends on how badly you want to get rid of your stuff. Figure you're going to get 10%-15% or less of what you paid. If you do better, great!

MAKE SURE YOU PRICE THINGS!! AND KNOW THAT THERE WILL BE HAGGLING (ie will you take 25 cents? I know it's marked 50 cents, but how about 3 for 50?) Depends on the time of day and on how much you want to bring back into the house.

(A great idea to get thoughts for pricing? Go to eBay and check out a couple of items and see if their selling.)

DVDS (popularity counts) $2-$5, VHS $1, Books -Hardcover $1, softcover/kidsbooks $.50 3 or 4/$1,

Clothing ... again, depending on your get rid of mood, $1 an item or do $10 for a bag (get a box of plastic bags from the grocery store) and let them fill.

Toys? Depends on the condition.

Furniture? Check the classifieds in the newspaper and see what is listed and those prices. It might give you an idea.

Good luck!!!

25 cent and get rid of it
nothing is over 5.00. no matter what you paid for it. books are usually .25 a piece. baby clothes sale great if they are in a bundle and go for a couple of dollars. sleeper sofa, depends on condition and will probably go for 50-100. ask for more than you know you will get and bargain down when it comes to furniture like that. kids toys will bring in no more than a dollar or two. depends on how much stuff you have to sale. if your sale is at 8 in the morning, get up at 6 and put everything out you intend to sale, make sure you have change and plenty of it. rope off your garage so that people will know that the garage itself is off limits, so that no one will think your mower is for sale. have a buddy help you and be prepared for weather changes and put a time limit on your sale. you don't want people coming over at dinner time or late at night trying to see what's left. If you have a half priced books, you can make more money with them or any other book/dvd resale store. drink plenty of water and have fun. whatever you don't sale, give it to charity and you can write it off.
Normally I keep my prices under $1.00 for the clothing and $5.00 to $25.00 for the furniture. I have a theory nothing x's nothing ='s nothing. So price it to were can sell it. "If it's cheap they will buy it".

Good luck to you.
