How do you know if you have roaches?
Question:We live in a city. We have lived here in this condo for 8yrs. We have the usual bugs/spiders...But-yesterday, my cat found a golden brown colored bug running across the living room floor. Of course I immediately think "god we have roaches". We do have a deck with french doors off our LR and this is where the bug ran from. (spiders etc seem to come from that direction also) I have never seen anything in the kitchen or bathrooms or our garage/basement. Our home is clean, but we do have a lot of stuff...We have outgrown our small condo. Actually we are moving and I have been cleaning and haven't seen any while doing that? Could one bug mean it's definitely a roach? No markings..just a golden brown roach look-alike? Help...

There are a lot of bugs that look kinda like roaches that are brown and around the same size... look up a picture of a roach and double check that that was what you killed. Just seeing one roach or bug doesnt necessarily mean you are infested just yet. Put out some bait, and hopefully you should be ok.

Yes, you most likely indeed have roaches. Roaches normally do not travel alone.
Roaches come from filth. So if on of your neighbors are filthy they can come over to your condo. You will see the at night when you enter a dark room and turn on the lights. Check your ceral boxes also. Is it possible it could have been a waterbug?
it sounds like a roach. And if you saw one. that means there's more of them. There really aren't bugs that "look alike" to a roach. Tho people in the south tend to call them water bugs.
spray your stuff. get someone in there.
Easy, find it!
