Boric acid powder, ants indoors, a puppy, and mama dog?

Question:I have an active curious puppy and his mom, I also have just a few ants indoors and lots outside. Is boric acid safe for animals I'm afraid even to put ant stakes even outside cause the dogs go outside to potty. Any suggestions?

Answers:
A quick fix is to drop something sweet outside, the ants will work on this rather than foraging in your house. After planting a Peony bush outside we no longer have ants in the house. Hope this helps.
ps. I wouldn't put boric acid (powder) anywhere. It will burn their nose. They sell ant traps in a can that the dogs probably wouldn't bother with.

Ants hate citric acid so some lemon juice will keep em at bay
