How do i transport bamboo plants that i have been growing in water.?
Question:I am moving and I have 20 hrs of travel time. Any Ideas?
Answers:
Wet a towel and wrap the roots with it then put a heavy duty plastic bag around it add tape the bag tightly closed.
You could then either carry it with you or box it and send it to yourself via UPS.
Why can't you take them with you in the water? If you need to transplant, Use Some good potting soil(I'm assuming your going to put them in a pot,and take them with you) About 2/3s and some perilite, and some sand. Use some rocks,or broken pottery in the bottom of the pot. Plant the Bamboo in the pot up to where the water line was. No Higher. Soak well with water, and add a little Transplant shock preventer. There is one, called,"Bamboo fertiliser"sold in a little bottle. Mix accordingly and pour over the soil, than again with clear water.(warm). Let drain. When completely drained, put a plastic bag around the whole thing and tie securely. Put the pot in your moving trailer along with the other things your moving. When you get to your destination, take out and remove the plastic bag. It'll look fresh and new,and healthy.Dad did this with our plants when we moved. I thought for sure they would be dead when we arrived. They where in the trailer for four days! But very much to my surprise, they looked better than when we put them in! Hope this helps you out! Good Luck and Bye
