Question about planting bulbs in the state of Maine?

Question:I live in Maine and we have very harsh, cold winters. I planted a bunch of gladiola's last spring and didn't know I had to dig up the bulbs for the winter. They never came up this spring. My question is what bulbs can I plant, that come back every spring, without having to dig up the bulbs??

Answers:
The most common are tulips, daffodils, hyaciths, crocus and most lilies.

Go to your local garden center in the Fall. They will have many, many varieties for you to choose.

Don't go now. All they have are the summer bloomers.
