fruit flies only have an eye on one side, sneak up on them from the other side and squash them
they wont see it coming!
you wont. They are naturally attracted to the rotting vegetation.
Fruit fly traps are an excellent tool to get rid of fruit flies. Attach the trap to the inside lid of garbage cans, dumpsters or compost bins to capture adult flies before they breed. Dispose of traps when full of flies or after three months.
You can use sprays and traps. Also, bins should be closed tightly and cleaned. The link below has more details.

you can't, they're part of the process,
if your compost bins are placed away from your home & opened rarely, they should stop being such a problem.
collect up the kitchen-scraps in a container with a lid & empty it only once a week.
Fly traps in pintsize glass jars work wonderfully by adding a chemical compound with water and set anywhere flies are present. It will create a solid pint of solid flies that must be millions or more and in short order. See your hardware or nursury for this product. It works'
you can't! part of the joys of gardening!
i usualy poke the lid off with a stick and leave it for a while as they fly away, throw in my waste stuff and get the lid on asap!!
you could always wear a midgy net over your head, but you'll get used to them!
Cut a large hole in the middle of a fine netting. The hole should be smaller than a clear plastic bag opening. Bunch up the hole of the netting with a rubber band. Cover the compost bin with the netting next time you replace the lid. You should be able to collect the fruit flies in a clear plastic bag the next time you lift the lid.
Subject is fruit flies. Fruit flies emerge from ripen fruits. Avoid putting fruit in the bin.
Result: no more fruit flies.
these flies are attracted by the stagnant smell of rotting compost, airate and turn the heap regularly, not only will this sweeten your compost it will deter the build up of anaerobic bacteria reducing the stagnant smells.
