How to harvest basil grown in a garden?

Question:I was wondering the best way to harvest the basil I've grown in my herb garden?

Answers:
Basil is so much better fresh. You can dry it, but I think the best way to keep it fresh tasting is to cut the leaves off and freeze them in icecubes in an icecube tray. But to eat it fresh, you just snip the leaves off. Wherever you cut 1, 2 new ones will grow in it's place. So, anywhere your basil needs to thicken out, just snip a leaf.

Yummmm Basil!

Walk to the plant
bend over
pick a bunch of leaves
stand up
walk away
Repeat in a week
Nip the tops off about 1/3 of the plant's height. This will encourage additional growth on the side, increasing the amount of basil you can lop off next time.
