How to eradicate moss?
Question:Moss is starting to thrive in the sandy soil between the blocks in my patio. How can I get rid of it?
Answers:
Moss between the blocks just adds character and holds everything together better, so why get rid of it? However if it starts to creep up onto the bricks it can be very slippery. That is the time to break out the bleach solution and spray to get it off the brick and perhaps prevent a fall.
I know moss thrives in acidic soil, so even if you kill the moss you have now, unless you add in an alkalizing agent to the soil, it'll just come back. My boyfriend used plain old baking soda, but he just did that last week, so I can't say how well it works.
Spray it with household bleach solution (not straight), it will kill it with in hours and is very cheap. When and if it comes back repeat.
Its suppossed to. It adds character, and helps hold the sand together. Let it grow. It means good things, you have a nice patio.
Why eradicate? It is meant to be there for character. If you feel strongly about killing it try weed b gone. I say leave it alone.
