Can I change my home address number to a name?

Question:Really appreciate all the helpful answers I have been trying to sell my property for a while now and someone suggested being N0. 13 maybe putting off potential buyers.

Answers:
You can, but when people drive along looking for your house, they will surely notice it falls between 11 & 15 (or in rare cases between 12 & 14) so will quickly work out it is number 13.
As a taxi driver I seldom take advance bookings if there is only a house name, names are not sequential, and you waste time looking for the right one - you will be surprised at how few people get it right when stating x house from whatever.

no
You can give your house a name but you still have to have the number as well I'm afraid. You could always call it TWOPLUS. Hope that helps. Good luck!
You can change your house name to what you want in the UK. :-) You need to let the council know, the post office, and the emergency services. But as for the number- well- if it is in the title deeds, will it really matter? Because that you cannot change quite that easily.
i dont think thats scaring off potential buyers...now if the house was number was 666 it might be a different story...good luck
You can't change the number of your house unless you write for permission from the council. They are the ones who number the houses. You could ask if it be 12b or 14a.

However, you can name your house anything you want, and use that name as long as you have the name prominently on your house.

Hope this helps.
I live in the country and my house only has a name. However, you might have something there about your house being 13, I would not even look at a house with that number , or any numbers that added up to 13, like 94 or 85. I know it sounds daft, but there are a lot of silly superstitious people like me. You could try what someone else suggested, ask the council if they would change it to 12a or 14a.
