How can I get wax out/off of cement?

Question:I had one of those bug candles burning out at the pool, and it tipped over, now there is a spot where the wax was. how can we get it off the cement?

Answers:
If you can find some way of freezing it, you should be able to chip it right off using a spackle knife, or even a butter knife. Perhaps you could wait till nightfall (so the sun doesn't hamper your efforts) and place a large bag of "party ice" on it, wait a bit until it gets really cold, and chip it off. I suppose another technique might be to melt it, them prompty wipe it up, and repeat the process until there's little enough to just scrape away. You might also try a product called "Goof Off", which can be found at hardware stores, and perhaps even a Wal-Mart. Its a somewhat oily chemical, which may or may not leave a stain on your cement. Good luck --

Scrap off the excess wax, then put paper on it and a solvent, I would suggest "brake kleen" the red can (not flammable but use good ventilation) from the auto store, this will lift a lot of the stain into the paper and what is left after a couple of treatments like this can be soaked into the concrete by just wetting with the solvent. good luck.
