Can you know the name of a plant through the internet just by showing a picture?

Question:There's this plant in my house that i really like. but i have no idea what its called. do you know a way for me to know it by using the internet? i saw this question that was posted here in Answers, it was, "how can i know the name of a plant if i only know what it looks like?" the answer was, "Take a leaf to the nursery." but we don't have a nursery in our neighborhood. can you please help me?

yes, it is possible. First, you identify if the plant is bush, climber, tree, flower, fern, shrub - then you can go through plant encylopedia websites, which shows the plant pictures. I am providing two good links below - check them out.

Same way, you can search web for plant encyclopedias.. one other method is that you upload the some pictures of that plant - provide the link to that picture site here and ask your question again. Best idea is to open a geocities account and upload picture there or some other free website.
