What is a double lot?

Question:What is a double lot? We want to buy a house on one but we dont know what it is and well im asking a question about houseing does any one know if subdivisons ( Country club sub. ) allow fences around their houses because we have a dog. the house we want to buy is on a double lot can you have fences around a double lot also are double lots always on corners or can they be anywere.

Answers:
A double lot just means they built the house on TWO lots, instead of one. You have twice the property that any other house on one lot would have. If a lot sells for 30,000, you can buy two of them and then have a double lot, see? A neighborhood like this would have somethign called covenants. Ask to see them before bidding on a house, because these neighborhoods frequently have a long list of these, which are essentially rules regulating what you can or cannot or must have on your property or home. For example, our neighborhood has covenants that require a minimum 3 car garage, minimum 1900 square foot homes, must be landscaped, no sheds, no chain link fences, etc.. so I would check it out before you bid!

double lot is 2 lots under one parcel # ( twice the size as a single)....
