Can all domestic gas ovens run on bottled gas?
Question:Thanks for taking the time to help me out.
I need to find a gas oven that will run on bottled gas (ie propane). Is it as simple as buying any old gas oven and simply connecting to a gas bottle, or does it need to be a special kind of oven?
Answers:
You need to get the gas valve and burners set right for the fuel you are wanting to use. It is best and cheapest to buy one already set up for propane.
yes ,but if it is set to work on natural gas the or fices have to be changed
corgi gas fitter can do the conversion in no time and it wont cost a lot
you will have to change the gas orfice for it to work correctly. bottle gas needs a smaller orfice
SOME CAN BE CONVERTED AND SOME CANT THEY SHOULD TELL YOU WHEN YOU BUY IT , BUT BEST TO TRY AND GET AN LPG OVEN , A CONVERSION CAN COST YOU TIME WISE AS THEY CAN BE VERY AWKARD
GOOD LUCK
in answer to ur question about gas cookers running on bottle gas, you will need an LPG conversion kit these usually come with a new gas cooker and don't take much to change but it should be done by a corgi registered installer. hop this helps
It is the gas jets that are not suitable for bottled gas. This is because gas jets are a specific size for the gas pressure being used. The orifice of gas jets is very carefully calculated the same as the petrol jets on a carburettor. so as mains gas pressure is a lot higher pressure than bottled gas, it is not compatible. Also your cooker must have a fixed supply pipe from the bottle to the cooker and not a flexible pipe for safety reasons.
