Does mosquito zappers work?

Question:what i heard is that they kill bugs that are attracted to light only which mosquitos are not, so they kill off more beneficial bugs than harmful ones, is this true or should i just buy one and i'll be mosquito free? no, dont want to hurt innocent bugs =)

Answers:
What you heard is basically true. 49 out of 50 of those zaps you hear is something other than a mosquito getting killed. Mosquitoes are not attracted to UV light but, as you refer to them, many innocent bugs are. Even if you get the zapper that was suggested above and add the mosquito attractant you'll still be killing a ton of bugs that aren't harmful.

I would suggest forget about zapping and get one of the CO2 mosquito traps. There aren't too many innocent insects attracted to CO2 so they kill primarily mosquitoes.

yea there amazing! i got one next to my pool no more of those bumps!
Actually, if you're getting a bug zapper. It attracts and kills any bugs that fly at night because they are all attracted to light. If you want to be mosquito free, then get a mosquito trap that uses heat, co2 and octenol to attract them. But will a bug zapper kill mosquitoes. Yes it will. Also, if you buy the upper brand ones, they actually use an attractant as well to make the mosquitoes come to it. And this is after reviewing about 20 different bug zappers. I've listed one below for ya.
