Gerbera help?

Question:I have a new Gerbera plant but don't know anything about them. Where in the house do they need tobe and do they need more than water? Thanx in advance x

Answers:
I bought a couple recently from a garden centre.A[apparently they originate from South Africa and the climate of the UK winter can be too hard.for them to be outdoors. I have put mine in my conservatory, as they need plenty of light. I also find they flag rather quickly if they dry out a bit,so I keep them well watered and use a feed once a week.As the individual booms fade cut the flower stem off with scissors just above the soil level. I am also told they need to be nearly pot bound to flower well,so I have resisted the urge to re pot them although the pots they are in seem a bit small for the size of the plants. They are lovely coloured large daisy shaped flowers. This is the first time I have grown them so I am learning as I go along.

gerbera plant needs a little bit of sun so be carrefoul where you put it
Gerberas want full sun. They prefer to be planted in the ground but will grow in pots. The smaller the pot the more frequent the watering. They will let you know when they need a drink by wilting.
