When we had an outbreak of fleas, the thing that worked best was vacuuming everything, everyday, destroy the bag each time. This will trap the adults and any that hatch later. It took awhile, we then shampooed the rugs. Good luck!!
Take him to the emergency room. And don't buy anymore flea bombs.
Use some rubbing alcohol on his legs, it helps a little.
What about putting an end to the fleas, you should see for the cause that made them appear, then call an appropriate disinfecting center from the yellow pages.
Well, the cheap flea bomb propbably did you more harm than the fleas ever could! All of them are very toxic so wash down all surfaces afterwards, and rewash all dishes, utensils! Open the windows and get in plenty of fresh air for hours!! Then, on to your son. If he is an infant or young child (less than 5 or so) and has dozens of bites, then yes -- he needs medical attention. CALL the ER at a big hospital and ask for a nurse -- most of the time they can tell you what to do. Or call your pediatrcian's office, or ANY large one for that matter. They usually have nurses who answer the first line of callers. Good luck!!
flea bites. I would say the emergency room is overboard. I know they are uncomfortable but try hydro cortizone cream to help with the itching. As for getting rid of the fleas. Call an exterminator.
Getting rid of fleas takes time-- if you can't afford an exterminator. One way is to put a small lamp on the floor where most fleas seem to be. Then take a cake pan with a about an inch of water-- put in a squirt of dish soap. Put the pan by the lamp-- turn on the lamp. The fleas will jump for the warm lightbulb and land in the water-- then drown.
However, fleas hide in rugs and cracks and crevices-- and lay their eggs there- so you have to keep doing the lamp/pan of water thing as the eggs hatch and wash those sofa covers--probably every few days for a while. For the rugs-- sprinkling with borax ( find it in the laundry section) and vaccuming it up later in the day will help. Empty the vaccume right after using.
For your son, hydrocortione cream works as does calamine lotion-- looks bad but helps the itching better.
Keep animals out of your house-- the source of most fleas in houses--
good luck
