Why do June bugs swarm my house at night and what can I do to get rid of them?

'June Bugs' are attracted to some out side plant you have. They are also known as Japanese Beatles. You can find traps for them, but do not buy the traps, as they will only attract more bugs! You may want to remove the shrubs that are attracting them, however. Walk around your house and look at all the shrubs. The ones the beatles are attracted to will have bites taken out of te leaves and/or leaves missing. They are chewing insects...and will eat many different types of shrubbery.
hope this helps.
I would love to have june bugs,,,,,,,,,I'm in Florida. Please send them to me.
Do you keep outside lights on? If so, they may be attracted to the light. Turn off outside lights unless you will be outside.
June bugs are only around in the summer time, after summer is gone they will go. They are attracted to heat and but not light. They are very harmless.
You can buy bug lights and hang them around your house, once they touch it they will die. They are zapped by electrical current. It is low voltage but it will do the trick.
You can re-use them year after year.
well June bugs are a pain in the butt, they are clingy, I don't think they live long, but make sure you treat your yard for Grubs in early spring as that's June bugs, dig in your grass and you will find June bugs that are not hatched yet, and they will kill your grass, so I spray a dusting powder on them, and all around the driveway where they are usually at the light. the dusting powder is the same kind of stuff used to spray on tomato plants, I think its called diazanon, sevendust, be careful, and wash it down into your grassy areas each day, and reapply each day, you can go to Home Depot, and they have a grubb worm dusting powder, it will work...thanks Becky d
