How can I clean my wooden floor?
Question:I've just moved into a house with solid oak flooring - which has been laid as slats. How can I clean it? We can't use a mop or anything that will get the surface wet as if water gets down the lines between the slats, it will ruin the floor. Any suggestions?

Hope it helps. :D
Murphys oil it has a nice clean smell and it works great
U need to hire a buffing machine or hire a proffessional firm to come in with the right machine and do it for u . I would say dependent on the size of the room then it would cost about £70 ...This would really only need to be done every 6-12 months. In between that u need to get a mop with dry buffing cloths to get rid of the dust .
I agree with the Murphy oil because my mother had us kids do it on the wooden doors and it smelled good and worked like a charm. We never used it on floors though.
Ronseal do a good wood floor cleaner especailly for hard wood.
Obviously not flooring material. For who in their right mind needs this hassle.? Hide with a rug.
Wash the floor with a mop and bucket, wring mop out before you put it on the floor. How to mop a floor. 1/3 fill a bucket with water put in some cleaner [flash] take mop and place it in bucket ,take out and put in strainer, twist mop to get rid of most of the water and move the mop over the floor with sweeping motion repeat until whole floor is done, empty bucket and rinse mop. Stand back and admire a good job done.?????????...
Never wet mop the floor.
If you have large scratches in the floor, these can be filled using one of the floor fillers or repair kits. Alternatively, if this does not work the area can be spot sanded and re-sealed. This process is easy if you have an oiled floor or a floor lacquered after fitting, however if you have a factory finished lacquer it would be advisable to do some test areas with various lacquers to check you can get the finish.
