I have a wasp nest in my porch roof, is it OK to leave them or will they start to become a big nusance?
Question:The roof is physically seperate from the house. At the moment a wasp seems to enter/leave every 10 secs in the afternoon sun!
Will they multiply until it becomes hazardous to go in & out of my front door? Are they likely to start new nests elsewhere around my house?
I'm thinking of just spraying regular wasp killer into the roof space.
Answers:
We had a wasp nest in our roof space a couple of years back, and we ignored it for a while and the wasps started attacking if you walked in that general area, so I suggest getting it sprayed, and the nest removed.
i would spray...
Kill Them...And Kill Them Now!
This will become a serious hazard, so spray away - do it at night when the little horrors are dormant and less likely to come out and complain.
It is fine to leave them. The nest will be disused after this year & the wasps never return to the same place.
There was a TV programme showing an elderly couple who had a nest in their house. It was fascinating to see the wasps coming & going & they did no harm whatsoever.
If it were me i would kill um rite now, i personally dont like wasps and kill them anytime i see them
I have been around wasp nets a hundred times at least and have never be stung by one even distrubing their nests while painting, but that doesn't mean it can't happen but generally if you leave them alone, they leave you alone. They have not become a large problem in my experience.
Get the Council rodent man in to get rid of it. To many people die in the UK from Wasp & Bee strings when they find out to late they are allergic to the Stings.
me? i would kill the buggers! they would be a nuisance in the location as you describe it. get a few cans of wasp spray and shoot em dead, better at night when they are dormant.
GET RID OF THEM.
You can get special stuff for killing off wasp nests. But be careful, get in a pro if you're unsure.
Phone the council they are obligated to remove the nest.
Free of charge that's what you pay your poll tax for.
I used that 'foam' wasp nest destroyer. Brilliant stuff.
Use it in the evening when most wasps are in the nest.
hi we had wasps in our back wall wasn't a problem at first but woke one morning to about 25 wasps flying around bathroom and top of stairs not sure how they got in but they did we phoned council they quoted £50 told us to ring environmental health they told us unless referred by council £50 but they suggested wasps nest destroyer that worked but then about 3 days later was upstairs and heard what i thought was a strimmer but was a horrible day so went to have a look who was daft enough to strim grass in kak weather while looking out of window a absolutely huge wasp passed my head was the queen of nest i guess had come to find all her wasp friends had to kill her with electro spray had nothing else to hand so anyway all this essay is to say go for wasps nest destroyer
rose
if you spray remember to leave the nest behind as this will ensure the wasps dont nest there again as they never nest in the same place, also they wont be there for long, after the year is up they move on and re-nest somewhere else.
unless they are causing a real concern id leave them be, but if you really want to get rid of them, get the experts in to handle the problem
