I have used erasers(the ones for pencils and pens) and manually done coins (coppers) with it. Try a penny first just to see.
Don't chemically clean old coins- you will destroy it's value. Just wash the loose dirt off with soapy water or better yet, brush it off.
Stay away from the home remedies, a good commercial product like "Brasso" should work just fine, and get better results.
leave them in coca cola overnight and then wash them in the morning
Soaking in coke is good but if you think it's valuable ask someone professional as you 'll want to keep it's value.
2 things I've found to work on metal Jewelry:
-an old toothbrush w/ toothpaste (only the white, paste kind) good for getting into tiny grooves too.
-one of those "Magic Erasers" they make for cleaning marks off of walls. Try this 1st on a regular tarnished coin b4 trying on your valuables.
Hi try putting it in coke and leave it over night it sould be like new in the morning, or like you have tried vingar but you have to leave it for ages like a week.
The best coin cleaner know: Coca Cola!! It is great on old medals too!
coca cola. guaranteed results.
coca cola over night, no probs.
try citric acid. it can be purchased in crystal form from shops selling wine making products. just mix with water and put coin in liquid.
Clean it up with only soap and water. Don't scrub it with anything. If you do anything else to it you may loose a lot of the value.
DO NOT! clean it, you will devalue the coin. trust me ,i made that mistake.
if its an old coin do not clean it reduces the value as you probably know, if its an old penny or the like it is any value to waste your time cleaning it,
