I have ants all over my front yard, what is a good way to get rid of them for good?

Dead queen, dead ants. Try a particle based insecticide, they'll take it back to the nest and kill the whole colony.
Exterminator, or those poison food pellets you can buy at Home Depot and place it near them. They will take the food back to the colony and supposely, it should kill them all after some time.

Don't waste your time spraying them - you need to get poison in to the nest which is underground. Home garden centers sell s ant traps which is poison food. The workers carry out the poison and bring it back to the nest. You could try some liquid bug killer concentrate and poor some in the area where the ant mound is. Not exactly Al Gores favorite method but it does get rid of the little buggers
