I'm having problems with sugar ants. They are covering our kitchen. Does anyone know how to get rid of them?

Question:in the pantry, sink, even on the floor. I found them on my couch last night as well. We are clean people. There's not food everywhere. We're getting more and more frustrated!

Answers:
You have to clean counters, floors etc so you have a blank slate.
Then inspect to see where they are coming in.
Some times they come in through electrical outlets and that means they live inside the walls. You can use tape and cover that outlet and they will give up.
If they are coming under a door, you can trace them back to their home and use poison or put what they are wanting outside by their home and they wont come in.
Many times they travel under the carpets so they would enter from an outside door and disappear.

Try 'Nippon' poison - or if you have pets try 'Pestcontro' which works through electromagnetics and ultrasonics
Cinnamon! Ants hate cinnamon. All you have to do is sprinkle some where ever they are and they will be gone within minutes!
I had these things -- and I ended up throwing out every single item of food in my kitchen--- even cans- because they were hiding under the labels-- Very EXPENSIVE thing to do- but, got rid of my little ants! : )
i'm not recommending this--but, just letting you know what worked for me.
Get a priest!!! HURRY! I had the same problem at my home and it turns out that when you have that much ants, fleas, flies, etc... its because someone has done witch craft on you or your house has a very lot of negativities right now. we got a priest and thats what he said.
roach spray and everytime you spill something wipe quick
We had ants in the house, too. An exterminator sprayed what he called a "barrier" around the exterior perimeter of the house and it got rid of those pesky things. It is poison though.
I have two very safe options for this problem. First, try sprinkling cornmeal around where you have seen the ants. They cannot digest it, but it is irresistible to the ants. They'll take it back to the colony and they'll all die off from trying to eat it. Second, you could sprinkle Splenda around where you see the ants. Yes! Splenda! It is an amazing insecticide.
