Crickets.lots of them?

Question:ok so where i work..."east texas".there are tons of crickets coming in an getting into our shop...which people step on them and things start looking pretty bad...i know they will stop coming in soon but was wondering if there is a home remedy out there to stop them..

Answers:
Sprinkle diatomaceous earth around the foundations of the building as well as sprinkling it in areas where it will not be disturbed (i.e. stepped on) will take care of the problem. You sprinkle it in corners, under shelves, etc. You should put enough down that the powder is visible and be sure to wear a dust mask.

Diatomaceous earth is a natural product that coats the bugs' exoskeleton and absorbs the body fluid of the bug. The bugs soon dry out and die. I know Texas is really humid, but this is also used in Florida very affectively.

There is no smell to this stuff and it can be left for months. I use it around my peach tree to keep earwigs off the peaches and it works like a charm.

You can get it at Lowe's and Home Depot in the pool accessories department. It's used in swimming pool filters.

BTW, crickets eat a wide variety of surprising things. I've given you a link for more info. If your shop stores any of this, it would be a good idea to put the diatomaceous earth in the backs of storage cabinets.

Good luck!
