How often should I flip my king size mattress?
Question:my husband and I
Answers:
It should be flipped every three months.
You'll get maximum wear from your mattress if you'll move it once a month. First rotate it from it's current position in a clockwise fashion (a quarter hour) that takes up four months...then flip it over sleep a month and start rotation again in a clockwise fashion ...then flip it again and start over.
I flip it every six months.
Every half a year. This is wat is written on the mattress in my army camp.
How often should a mattress be flipped?
Every three months as follows:
Spring and Summer -- Flip side-to-side.
Fall and Winter -- Flip from end to end.
Strip the bed completely.
Vacuum the mattress before flipping. You can use a hand-held vacuum or a regular one with attachments.
Before flipping the mattress, it will much easier if you slide a plastic bag (large garbage bag or a dry-cleaning bag) under the surface of the mattress -- between the top mattress and box springs on the side you're going to pull toward (figure A).
If the size of your mattress is queen or larger, you'll need help -- a two man or woman job!
Take a deep breath and pull the mattress toward you (away from the side with the plastic bag) until it is standing on end. Have your helper steady the mattress while you move to the other side to be the "catcher" when the mattress is lowered.
Lower the mattress, and be sure to go slowly in order to control the mattress.
Remove the plastic bag and align the top mattress.
Vacuum the top of the mattress.
