What is more cost effective: Air conditioner or fans?
Question:I have a 1200 sq. foot apartment and my electric bill seems to be high. I was wondering if it was because I have 1 fan running all the time and 2 others that run for the majority of the day, and also the AC which keeps my apartment around 74ish ( I live in Orlando, Florida). I wanted to know if I should turn off all my fans and make the AC at like 70 or should i leave the fans on and have the AC at like 78? Which one is cheaper or more cost effective?

There are timers (thermostats) for air conditioners that you can set to turn on the before you generally arrive home that can save you from air conditioning all day that will save big $$$. Also, I believe ceiling fans help to cool and keep the cost down.
I just let mine run If I were to shut it off the house would be 95 and the air would run none stop for 3 hrs . At least at My house .
Its cheaper/more comfortable for me let them run. I work in heat all day and want it nice when get home.
