Rural Well?

Question:I'm looking at buying some rural property and wondering if I can afford to build a house out there. Can any one give me an estimate on how much it costs to drill a well on the colorado plains? I've looked at the water maps and the property lies over an aqufier and the kiowa bijou basin. ( From what I understand not to much more than 650 feet down) Also how much would a pump/ pressure tank run?
Really rough estimate is all I'm looking for $5000 or $50000.

Thanks!

Answers:
To have a well drilled, usually runs about $10.00 To $15.00 per foot.depending on the driller you decide to have do it. A good pump will run between $300.00 and $600.00 depending on the amount of horsepower you will need to pull the water out of that deep of a well. Most of the time, a 1hp or a 1 1/2 hp pump will be sufficient. Pressure tanks usually cost around $200.00 to $400.00, depending on the size of the tank. The amounts I've stated are from what I experienced about 8 years ago....so they might be slightly higher today. More information about all of this can be found on the internet, too. Just make sure you research information for your area to get more accurate costs. Good luck.
