Heating Question?

Question:I was wonder which is cheaper to run and more energy efficient.

Ducted gas heater running through the house at 20 degrees celcius or
a small portable electric heater running at 1200W and 230-240V.

Heating is for one person. I thought that the electric heater was cheaper to run, but someone told me gas is a lot cheaper than electricity. So any advise would be appreciated.

Phillip. I don't know where you live? But for one person I would have thought that electricity would be the most efficient.The other thing we use here in NZ,is a portable LPG heater.Comes with a 9kg gas bottle,and 3heat setting. Costs us about $20NZ to run,and lasts about 2 weeks.I guess it depends on how cold your climate is?Wouldn't a ducted gas heater be expensive to install? Good Luck!
