What can I use in the house to kill rats? (safely)?
Question:I have a small baby, an elderly cat and an amazon parrot. They are all sensitive to chemicals and I'm afraid the cat will get in a mouse trap. One crawled on the stovetop last night. THEY ARE GETTING BRAVE!! HELP!

You need those big rat traps. The look like mouse traps, only bigger. Use some kind of meat or peanut butter as bait. Put them along the wall in the room where you saw the rat, and only put the traps out at night. And keep the cat out of that room of course. And you need to look around the perimeter of your house for the hole where they are getting in, and seal it.
Alternatively, maybe you need a bigger cat.
you can get a glue trap as soon as they crawled on it they stick and cannot move.
try some glue traps. youll be stuck with getting them out of the house (no pun intended hehehe) but its the safest alternative you have. go to your local feed & garden store or call a place like terminex & they should be able to help you find some.
you need a rat trap b/c mouse traps are too small other that that you could try orkin they can put some stuff around where its not likely to be gotten into. when we had them we just used dcon to get rid of them and then made sure all the food was put away dishes done carbage out ect before they came out being teenagers w/ a bb gun we shot a few (ok we were mean) and make sure the cat food is in a heavy container hard to chew through ie glass or metal basicly get rid of food sources
Call me crazy but his will work I do not know why but it does
Go buy some peppermint oil sounds like you may need a good bit but it is cheep get some cotton balls dunk the cotton balls in the oil and put them all around the walls and guess what the rats will run away just like they were called by the piper.
NOW STOP LAUGHING AND GET GOING THIS WORKS
