Also, depending on the amount, I usually just hand-pick the critters during early morning coolness when they are sluggish. I've seen just one or two put a serious hurting on my tomatoe plants, so I check frequently. They have large appetities!

Either use organic insecticide or use some trick method. The trick method is you burn old wood alongwith used lemons and anything having bitter taste like bittergourd. Take that ash and spray it all over the garden. This is the completely safe method. it may keep other insects away too. When you wash these vegies, the ash will be removed completly. You might have to do it frequently - like once a week.
