Beetles in my house! I HATE THEM! I've tried everything to keep them out, what should I do?
Question:I live in Arizona, in the desert, and these big nasty brownish/black beetles keep coming into my house at night! I sprayed with poison around the house, sprinkled granules around the house, even set out little poison hotel thingies... And yet they are still EVERYWHERE!
Is there anything I can do to get rid of these things, or am I doomed to have them crawling all over my house for the rest of the summer?

Hi, I had the same problem a few years ago. I found that the problem passes because the beetles come out once a year and, believe it or not, there is a finite number of them. They have probably "wintered" in the crevices of your home. Although they are creepy (in more ways than one), I simply vacuumed them away. At the risk of sounding cold and uncaring, you're the one who invaded beetle territory. You are the intruder. If you don't like bugs, get out of there and live in a concrete jungle.
You have no right to kill the creatures that God has placed there.
Remember, beetles are a very important part of the ecosystem particularly in the desert as they eat dead organic matter and turn it into harmless dirt. They really are more important than you could ever be to the well-being of the planet so quit complaining.
Edit:
The way you talk it sounds like there's a lot of pent-up aggression there. Perhaps you have other issues and want to take them out on the beetles. You might consider consulting a therapist.
It would be helpful if you knew what kind of beetles they are. Even then I'm not sure what to do about them in your yard, but in the house you might be able to get rid of them with a bug bomb or two.
