Can uncovered OIL candles be used outdoors or will they blow out?

Question:My wedding is approaching and I love the look of floating candles as a centerpiece. But the reception is outdoors and I'm afraid these will blow out. I found some floating oil candles, but will these do the same? What makes some oil lamps appropriate for outdoor use? Does the wick have to be covered?

Answers:
they won't blow out unless there is a hurricane wind

They will be fine as long as the container is tall enough that the wind won't bother the flame.
if you want floating candles the wick should be floating in a vase of oil...but this might do the trick...http://www.firelight.com/merchant2/merch...
They will work but keep in mind that they are more dangerous then candles! If there are going to be children involved I would not use them...good luck and congratulation on your wedding!
