You can easily make your own incense. A friend of mine makes her own and uses a coffee grinder to produce fine grains. She adds different binders so the incense doesn't need to be tossed over hot charcoal, which often emits toxic fumes. Herbs and spices for incense may easily be purchased on line or at health food stores. Below is a wonderful website with complete instructions and recipes.

Have fun! Oh, and I wouldn't use the coffee grinder for coffee after this. Some of the oils in spices are caustic (like cloves) and will eat away plastic. Your best and safest bet is to use a blender with a glass jar. Herbs and spices should never be kept in plastic.
