It's the climate. Use borax around baseboards, under appliances, in cabinets. Hang sticky glue traps in out of the way places - garage, laundry room, etc.
Make sure doors have 'sweeps' along the bottom and that any cracks around windows and/or doors are filled. Be certain your window/door screens are in good repair also.

you can try getting, and growing Black Cohosh. This plant puts off an odor that certain insects flee from or you can get the essential oil from the herb pennyroyal, it has a minty-musty smell that certain insects cannot stand, especially mosquito's. you can get this oil at almost any herb shop. you can get Black Cohosh seeds and growing instructions at Ethnobotany.com. you may be able to get the Essential oil of pennyroyal at Azuregreen.com. or Isis.com.
Make sure that you dilute this essential oil to at least a 4:1 ratio with a carrier oil, such as flax seed oil.
After you mix the oil put it in a oil-burner in the house, to get the odor air through-out the house.
Where ever you obtain the oil, ask questions about the oil-burner and other methods of spreading odor through-out your house.
