My house smells funny?
Question:So i live in a apartment building and all my neighbors have cats and dogs, and they always cook and the smell is constantly leaking into my apartment. I need help covering the smell up.
I have purchase air freshener but those dont last, and i got a febreze plugin and that only works where it is at.
Candles only work temporarily. Can anyone help me?

Sounds like you need some stronger help. Essential oils offer a more permanent solution. For air purification tea tree oil works great although some folks do not like the aroma.
If you like a earthy aroma choose cedarwood. I have two dogs and after applying a few drops of cedarwood to the filter in our vaccum I clean up, it really helps. You can also take an older stainless pot and put it in the stovetop with 5-8 drops of essential oil in 4 cups of water and keep on low.

GO TO THE DOLLAR STORE, GET VANILLA IN OIL FORM AND A CERAMIC BURNER WHICH COMES WITH A CANDLE SECTION THAT BURNS THE OIL AND YOU WON'T SMELL ANYTHING BUT THE REFRESHING AROMA FROM IT.
First, make sure the smell is not coming from your apartment from previous pets or whatever. It may be worthwhile to wash or dry clean your drapes or curtains, steam clean your carpets and soft furniture, wash your bedding, and even wash down your painted walls with a mild bleach solution. Test first on the paint.
Make sure your front door fits tightly, if not, wedge a rolled up towel in front of it to block any outside air from coming in. Open your windows as often as possible to air out your rooms. Put bowls of baking soda in your rooms, it will help to absorb odors. Live plants will help to clean your air. Air cleaners will also help to keep your air clean and remove bacteria, they are expensive though, and I'm not sure how well they do on odors.
I have teenage boys and sometimes it can smell like a locker room at our house! We also have cats. I use Renuzit Super Odor Neutralizer, which comes in a spray bottle and leaves a very fine mist on furnishings and in the air. It will not hurt your furniture. There is a light fragrance but more important, it really seems to get rid of odors. We like the citrus fragrance.

I use the febreze plug ins--but also use the febreze air spray and the febreze fabric spray. Maybe if there is a plug in outside your door-plug in a febreze plug in there also!
